I have some mods planned for my R3 and one of those is to change the sprockets. This will put the speedo out of sync, so what options do I have to get it to read the speed to read correctly?

You can use a speedo healer and have you looked into ones like the HealTech or 12oClockLabs units that let you recalibrate after sprocket changes for accurate readings?

Yeah, changing sprockets on the R3 will throw off the speedo since it's reading from the output shaft, best fix is to grab a SpeedoDRD or a HealTech SpeedoHealer just like @GulfBoy pointed out, either of them can get you fixed in correction based on your new gear ratio, and once it's set up, you're good to go
