OEM chain installation

my son picked OEM parts so we got the sprockets and the OEM 94568-H3112-00 chain. the issue is it's a full loop not the type you connect with a master link. it doesn't add up that we'd break the chain and then lack a rivet to fix it. what am i not getting??

I'm pretty sure you need to remove the swingarm to install those... Most likely the installation is intended to be done at the factory? Get what I mean?

hmmm, the expectation isn't that you'd "fix" it by breaking and riveting
Instead, the OEM design is generally for dealers or experienced mechanics to remove the swingarm to loop the new chain over the countershaft sprocket, and then reinstall the swingarm

Did the chain come labeled as endless, or could it be a mistake in packaging, have you confirmed the part number with the dealer?
