got myself a 2016 r3 recently and there's this annoying issue: rpm hangs around 5k, refuses to drop unless i disengage the clutch. it doesn't feel right. anyone else run into this? tried basic checks, but nothing stood out. any advice or similar stories? feels like i'm missing something obvious.

Seen this kind of issue plenty of times over the years. Back in the day we didnt have all these fancy tools but the approach was straightforward and it still works today. If ur dealing with an RPM that wont settle after warming up, id start by giving the isc valve on the throttle body a thorough cleaning. Sometimes it just sticks open and lets too much air through after the engine heats up. A good cleaning usually does the trick.

Now if the rpm still doesnt come down even after blocking the isc inlet theres another method ive used with success. U can lean out the idle fuel mixture between 1800-3000 rpm. Its not without its tradeoffs though. U might notice a bit of stuttering at lower rpm's. Still its a solid option if ur in a pinch. Stick to the basics and ull have it running smoothly in no time.
