Regulator and Rectifier… same thing?

My 2016 Yamaha R3 is a bit of a project bike. It runs, but the charging system isn't keeping up. After some troubleshooting, it looks like I'll be swapping out both the stator and the voltage regulator. While browsing parts, I keep running into listings labeled rectifier/regulator or sometimes just regulator/rectifier. I'm a little confused, are these two names for the same unit? or do I need to track down separate parts?
I figured someone here must have been down this road already. If you've replaced the charging components on your R3, what brand(s) did you go with?

Yeah, the regulator and rectifier are the same unit on the R3, it's a combo piece, just different naming. But here's my hot take: most aftermarket ones are junk. Stick with OEM or go Mosfet (Shindengen FH020AA), everything else is asking for another failure.

Yep, GulfBoy is right, it is the same unit, just different naming order in listings. It handles rectifying AC to DC and regulating voltage together. Stator is separate..so stick with OEM or a reputable aftermarket brand for reliability on the R3.
