Clutch lever faulty

On my way home when i had to downshift before the light but didnt have to make a complete stop, went to let go of the clutch when i felt something snapped around the clutch lever area and somehow it didnt function, it was useless then. good thing it still remained on gear though it was stuck, stopped to the side to check and the clutch lever seemed fine. thoughts?

It must be that something in your clutch system broke when you tried to release the clutch. Anyway, if the level looks fine, have you tried checking if the clutch cable is still attached? If no, take it to the dealer, as they would need to replace the snapped cable and even look at any potential leaks. Just to be sure, take it to the dealer.

hmm..its like your clutch cable probably snapped or popped loose at one end, super common if it's been worn or frayed. If the lever still moves but there's no resistance and the clutch won't disengage, that's usually the culprit. Could also be the actuator arm at the engine end came loose or something let go in the linkage. I'd check both ends of the cable first before assuming anything worse though

Lever feeling normal but zero engagement is a dead giveaway. Pop the cover, check both ends of the cable. If it's toast, don't bother trying to patch it, just replace it with a quality one and keep a spare in your kit next time.

Agree with them, the only likely reason for it is that your clutch cable snapped or slipped off the perch. Happened to me once mid-ride. Make sure you check both ends of the cable like @Yara.kins here mentioned. I bet it popped loose or frayed bad.
