First 100 miles in, freeway okay?

I'm riding a 2020 Yamaha R3 and just hit 80 miles, all city so far. My brother says I should baby it for the first 500 miles but I need to start commuting on I-5 and that means cruising at 65–70 mph. Is it okay to do that this early or should I stick to surface streets a bit longer?

At 80 miles, you can ride the R3 on the freeway, but manage your speed and avoid holding 65–70 mph steadily for long. Break-in is about changing RPMs, not just keeping speeds low

I was worried about causing damage by cruising at a steady pace too soon, but knowing that varying RPMs matters more is helpful. I'll try changing up the throttle and switch lanes now and then to keep things varied. I plan to start riding on the freeway next week since my work sched is changing, so I'll take it easy and avoid sticking to 1 speed for too long. Do you think it's better to do short freeway runs with exit ramps every few miles, or just ride a long stretch without stopping? I'm still figuring out how to balance breaking in the bike with my daily commute.
